At The Crafted Home and Kitchen, our goal is to make remodeling a pleasant experience for you. We are a full-service renovations firm. We can design and renovate any area of your home, and coordinate all aspects of your renovation project. From our years of experience in New York City renovations, we can help you get the most out of virtually any size or shape of space.

Design, Drafting, Architecture

Our in-house designer will work closely with you to convert your wish list into floor plans and elevations. You will "see" how your home will look before ordering your cabinets, built-in furniture, or appliances.
We offer a complete range of architectural services through the offices of Magdalena Mroz, AIA, founder and principal architect at Mroz Office for Design + Architecture.

Installation

After planning, we will provide you with accurate and firm estimates. We will take care of your plumbing and electrical needs, add or remove walls, refinish or replace flooring, and install built-in furniture, cabinetry, appliances, tiles, countertops—in short, everything including the kitchen sink.

If you are a builder, contractor, architect, certified designer or kitchen planner, we offer a Custom and Semi-Custom Cabinetry Program for you. This program provides trade discounts to you, or to clients you may refer to us. MANAGEMENT

President

Tom Krauss has 35 years of quality-oriented management experience covering every aspect of design, manufacturing, and installation. He graduated from CCNY with a B.A. in English, a minor in Electrical Engineering, and the highest Art Department award for his photography. Tom began his business career shortly after graduation by designing and manufacturing clocks and watches under his own patents. Later he created a firm to import and distribute Italian designer furniture in the USA. This led him to designing custom furniture, remodeling apartments, and managing entire building renovations.

Chief Designer

George Vazquez received his B.F.A. from Havana University. He then obtained a second degree from the School of Architecture and practiced as a licensed architect. George lived in Florida for many years, where he worked with celebrities and remodeled historical homes in Coral Gables and other upscale areas. George has designed spas, executive offices, condos, resorts, and retail stores, and he is an expert in all aspects of residential, historical, and commercial design and renovation. George has been our chief designer since he relocated permanently to New York.

Project Manager

Chuck Marma got an early start in construction at a very young age as his father's helper. Chuck worked his way through college, earning a BBA while continuing to work in the field. His love for construction and renovation led him to personally experience and understand every facet of the trades over a working period of over 20 years, and earns him the respect of everyone working with him. His great hands-on knowledge makes it easy for Chuck to explain every detail to a client, which he loves to do. Chuck's experience contributes importantly to the accuracy and reliability of the entire scope of a renovation, from the budget he calculates, to the tight schedule we keep on every project…and Chuck takes great pride in keeping our clients informed and pleased.

Architect

We collaborate with Magdalena Mroz, AIA, founder and principal architect at Mroz Office for Design + Architecture, to provide a complete range of architectural services for our clients. Magdalena received her Master of Architecture and Urban Design degree from Harvard University after completing a professional Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of Miami. Magdalena has 15 years of experience on projects ranging from high-rise residential/office design and master planning, to substantial home improvement renovations, both internationally and in the USA. She served as Teaching Assistant at Harvard Graduate School and was a design critic at the NY Institute of Technology. Magdalena is licensed and registered in New York, New Jersey, and Florida.
